Sacred Rainbow Nation Songs of Light, Peace and Love · Song 26

Ancient Mother

A slow, keening invocation — “Ancient Mother, I hear you calling” — sung traditional, and carried far by Robert Gass and On Wings of Song’s 1993 recording; it has since entered the hymnals (Singing the Journey #1069). It is printed in Rainbow AU songs, vol. A, p.5, song #26. The melody here follows the singing on Mettaben’s Rainbow Chant Collection — ancient_mother.mp3 (CC BY-NC-SA).
